Join us for a very special evening honouring the words, wit and creative spirit of the late Sonja Broderick, one of Listowel’s most gifted and quietly brilliant poets.
As part of our ongoing series celebrating Kerry’s women writers and artists, acclaimed poets Gabriel Fitzmaurice, Eileen Sheehan and Marian Relihan will share readings and reflections on Sonja’s work — including pieces from her 2004 collection The Things You Left Me With and a selection of her unpublished poems.
Sonja’s love of language began in childhood and never let her go — she believed words should “dance from the page”, shaping poems that move not only through meaning, but rhythm, sound and music.
This intimate event invites our community to gather, remember and celebrate a writer whose voice continues to resonate.
Sonja Broderick: The Things She Left Us takes place on Thursday December 11th at 7.30 pm.
