FLOW

Rising Tides, Changing Shorelines

DATE

October 5th, 2025

FLOW is an artistic and documentary project about the evolution of coastal landscapes in the face of rising sea levels due to climate change. This immersive installation, created by Carl Cordonnier in collaboration with Sandra Suireand Hugo Cordonnier, presents a photographic mapping of the Shannon Estuary in Ireland and the Somme Bay in France, alongside an audiovisual creation that explores the present in order to question the future.

At the intersection of photography and moving image, the work challenges our perceptions of territory and our ability to anticipate its transformation. Designed to be mobile and adaptable to museum spaces, it includes participatory workshops open to all audiences.

FLOW is a creation by the Dailylife company, produced in partnership with the French Embassy in Ireland, Institut Français, Hauts-de-France Region, Office of Public Works (OPW), and the City of Cayeux-sur-Mer.

FLOW will be officially opened at Kerry Writers’ Museum on Sunday October 5th, 2025 at 7 pm.

Workshop: Imagine the Shannon Estuary in 2100

In advance of the exhibition opening Carl Cordonnier and Sandra Suire will lead a workshop inviting participants to reflect on their perceptions of the Shannon Estuary in the year 2100. Participants are encouraged to bring photographs, drawings, and/or text which will serve as the foundation for collaborative workshops. These sessions will introduce photomapping, inspired by the Flow project. During the workshop:

  • Carl and Sandra will present two examples of video mapping using photographs.
  • Participants will share and explore the materials they have brought.
  • Participants will be invited to explore the shore with their phones
  • with the team they will create a collective visual narrative.
  • The process will conclude with the creation of a short projection using a mapping software

The workshop is free of charge and will run from 2 to 4 pm. Limited to 12 participants.
