Description
There is something particularly special about a group of writers who continue to gather, month after month and year after year, simply for the love of words. The Seanchaí Writers Group has been doing just that for more than twenty years, meeting in Kerry Writers’ Museum and contributing quietly but significantly to the rich literary life of Listowel and North Kerry.
While literary heritage is often associated with famous names, it is sustained by communities such as this one – people who write because they feel compelled to capture a memory, shape an experience, preserve a voice or simply make sense of the world through language.
The pieces gathered here reflect that spirit. Within these pages, readers will encounter humour and heartbreak, family histories and imagined worlds, local landscapes and distant journeys. There are moments of reflection, celebration, grief and wonder. Together, they create a tapestry of voices that is both deeply personal and unmistakably rooted in the storytelling tradition that has long flourished in Kerry.
The Seanchaí Writers’ Anthology is a collection poetry and short stories by thirteen writers from North Kerry & West Limerick.
