mining our memories: aN INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCHING YOUR AMATEUR DRAMA HISTORIES

Do you have memories of putting on plays, helping backstage, or supporting local drama groups? Why not join Dr. Fiona Brennan, Theatre Historian, for an introductory session on researching our amateur dramatic history. No experience necessary!

The event includes a tour of the exhibition Raising the Curtain on Co. Kerry’s Amateur Dramatic Heritage; a chance to listen to clips from interviews on amateur drama memories and see some items from the Museum’s amateur drama collection.

11 am to 2 pm. This is a FREE event but must be booked in advance.

This project received funding through a joint initiative by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and the National Monuments Service to support practices inscribed on Ireland’s National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.  Ireland’s National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage is managed by the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and can be viewed at https://nationalinventoryich.ccs.gov.ie/.

The National Monuments Service is delighted to support this initiative that highlights the strong relationship between tangible and intangible heritage.
